More On Me

Me as an Artist:
I don't remember a time in my life where I wasn't interested in drawing or building things. As a child I would spend the majority of my time putting together legos as creatively as I could. When I was eight years old my skill level of drawing made me eligible to take an advanced art course for children ages 10-12. From there drawing became my main focus until high school. My freshman year of high school I took a class that gave a small taste of the majority of art courses that the school offers individually. From there I found that I enjoyed three dimensional sculpture artistry. My junior year I my first digital media class, immediately loved it. My senior year, I am currently taking AP 3-Dimensional art, and Advanced Digital Media.

Artist Statement:
Art to me is a way of expression, no matter what emotion drives it. Art can be a smiley face finger painting from a five year old, or a fifty foot sculpture put together by a professional designer. A majority of my pieces are random because don't like to keep a consistent style. I like to mix up my approaches, sometimes I use clean smooth lines and cartoony figures, and other times I may feel like a sloppy image with dark realistic shading. The main thing that all of my pieces have in common is that I try to represent a strong level of expression in all of them. My largest influence is the art work of the other students around me. It inspires me to see what other students are capable of imagining and putting together, and that drives me to grow through my art.
